Hajime Moriyasu Confident Ahead of Final
Japan coach Hajime Moriyasu expressed confidence in his team's ability to win the AFC U23 Asian Cup on Saturday, as they prepare to face Saudi Arabia in the final. Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Moriyasu said, "We have worked hard for this moment, and we are ready to give everything to win the title."
Moriyasu praised his players for their performance in the tournament so far, saying, "They have shown great character and determination, and they have earned the right to be in the final." He added, "We know Saudi Arabia will be a tough opponent, but we are confident in our abilities and we are determined to win."
Japan has won the AFC U23 Asian Cup twice before, in 2016 and 2020. Moriyasu said, "We want to make history and become the first team to win the tournament three times."
The final between Japan and Saudi Arabia will be played at the Pakhtakor Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Saturday, June 18.
