As the Church prepares to mark the feast day of Blessed Carlo Acutis on 10 October, a tapestry featuring his portrait has been hung in the St. Francis Basilica in Assisi, Italy. Carlo Acutis died of leukemia in 2006 at age 15. The Catholic Church has attributed two miracles to him.

Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991, in London, England, and then moved with his Italian parents to Milan as a child. He was a devout Catholic who spent much of his time volunteering at his local parish. Carlo Acutis was also a gifted computer programmer who created a website dedicated to documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world.

Carlo Acutis was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006 and died just a few months later. He was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020. The tapestry that now hangs in the St. Francis Basilica is a reminder of his life of faith and service.
