Moose Jaw Warriors Suspensions
Incident Remains Under Investigation
Players, GM, and Coach Suspended
Details are still scarce surrounding what led to the indefinite suspension of four Moose Jaw Warriors hockey players last month. However, the Western Hockey League (WHL) has announced that the four players, as well as the team's general manager and coach, have been suspended for various periods of time.
The four players have been suspended due to an off-ice incident while on a team road trip in Edmonton during the month of December. The WHL has not released any further details about the incident, citing an ongoing investigation.
The four players who have been suspended are:
- Brayden Yager 2023 2nd Overall Edmonton Oilers Draft Pick
- Jackson Unger
- Lynden Lakovic
- Josiah James
In addition to the players, the team's general manager, Alan Millar, and head coach, Mark O'Leary, have also been suspended for five games each.
The WHL has stated that the suspensions are a result of the players' and staff members' conduct, which violated the league's policies. The league has also said that it will continue to investigate the incident and may take further action if necessary.
The Moose Jaw Warriors are currently in last place in the WHL's Eastern Conference, with a record of 15-28-3-0. The team has lost its last five games.
The suspensions are a significant blow to the Warriors, who are already struggling to make the playoffs. It remains to be seen how the team will perform without its four suspended players.
