More Than 700 Participate In Chicago Kids Triathlon

Street Closures In Place Through Sunday

The Chicago Kids Triathlon took place this weekend, with more than 700 children participating in the event. The triathlon included a swim, bike, and run, and was open to children ages 6 to 14.

The Chicago Triathlon is a weekend-long event that also includes an adult triathlon and a duathlon. The adult triathlon will take place on Sunday, and is expected to draw more than 8,500 athletes from more than 45 states and countries.

Road closures will be in effect for the Chicago Triathlon. DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be closed from North Avenue to Oak Street from Saturday, August 26th at 12:01 AM to Sunday, August 27th at 11:59 PM.

• Since it started in 2017, 175 kids have participated in a Live Grit Soars training program, and 85 have gone on to complete a triathlon.
• The Chicago Kids Triathlon is a great way to get kids active and involved in sports.
